Jose Update
Jose is doing well as to be expected. He's on the road to remission. He has been in the hospital for three weeks now. He probably has a month longer to go. The group up at LDS hospital is amazing. They have been so wonderful. All the doctors and nurses are patient with me and all my questions. They are taking such good care of Jose. He has to be monitored very closely since his blood levels are not normal. He is constantly getting red blood cells when his hematocrit drops below 24 and his platelets drop below 75,000. Since Jose is O+ he can have platelets from different donors. He is on a six different antibiotics so he doesn't get infections since he has no immune system. His poor lips have been so blistered and sore. His tongue is sore since the chemo kills all the cells that regenerate quickly. Such as hair, nails, skin, and mucous cells in the mouth. He isn't making new bone marrow and cells yet. We are hoping by the end of the week.
