Dad's Obituary

Charles Patrick Carter



Charles Patrick Carter, age 59, died on May 9, 2014 at LDS Hospital surrounded by his loving children and family.  His example of courage throughout his long battle with cancer touched the lives of many.
He was born on October 22, 1954 in South Sacramento, California and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah.  He graduated Pleasant Grove High School in 1972.  He married Lori Prestwich in February, 1976 and later divorced.  He married Paula Terry in September, 1981 and later divorced.
He worked for many years at Bayly Mfg. in Pleasant Grove, and Geneva Steel in the Rolling Mill.  After retiring from Geneva, he became a long haul truck driver, which he loved doing for many years, traveling throughout the United States with his little dog and best friend Charlie.
Chuck loved sports and was a true 49er fan.  He loved to go camping, fishing and hunting with his family and friends.  He is best remembered for his kindness, courage, spunk and most of all his love for his children, grandchildren, friends and life.  His love and acts of kindness will be missed by all.
He is survived by his 6 children Frances Atwood (Gabe), Christine Kelly, Andrew (Angela), Jessica Padilla (Jose), Cade and Cale, 16 grandchildren, his father and step mother Floyd and Diane Carter, siblings; Susan, Cindy, Shelly, Delbert and Teddy.
His final wishes are to be cremated.  A memorial in his honor will be held on Friday, May 16th at the Olpin Mortuary 494 S 300 E, Pleasant Grove from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
