Bone Marrow Biopsy

Today we went up to get Jose's bone marrow biopsy. He couldn't start the oral chemo because his platelets were still 99 and need to be over 100,000. His neutrophils where finally outta the danger zone. We are hoping as long as this bone marrow biopsy comes back clean he will get his port out and start the oral chemo. Cross your fingers. We were lucky enough to get to be apart of a new trial bone marrow drill. It looked like a little drill. They were able to quickly get a quick bone marrow core. But, they were having a hard time aspirating and getting a good blood sample. Probably because his numbers were still down.

Aspirating the bone marrow sample. (i'm not supposed to have this pic but I 'm putting it anyway.)
The PA's at LDS are really good at what they do.
